Eckman has worked with numerous organizations that have elected (or are required) to procure a General Contractor (GC) through a public bid process. In many cases, we are invited to bid on a project after review of our qualifications.  The bid, either open or restricted to a short list of pre-qualified firms, takes place after the design is finalized.  With this method, the Owner has a contract with the architect, and engages the builder under a separate contract.  Eckman’s experienced staff excels at communicating with both the Owner and the Architect, essential to maintaining a smooth construction process and to deliver a high-quality product completed on schedule.

Eckman has successfully bid a variety of projects, and worked as GC for owners such as the State of NH, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the University System of NH, and numerous school districts.  Our long-standing relationships with an extensive network of subcontractors and suppliers allows us to obtain the best pricing—initially, and for subsequent requested changes—from those best qualified to perform the work, ensuring that we finish every project on time and under budget.
