Project Description

The Birches at Concord is a new assisted living community for 52 residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment. Features include through-wall AC and a complete fire protection system. Site work included utilities, a parking area for 24 cars, landscaping and a secured backyard with walking paths.

The building contains three residential “neighborhoods,” each containing living rooms, a country kitchen and an adjacent dining area. Each unit contains one furnished bedroom and a full bath. The community also features a commercial kitchen, beauty salon, formal dining room, crafts room and a spa. The administrative section contains a reception area, offices and an employee lounge.

During preconstruction, Eckman Construction value-engineered out $390,000 to bring the project within the Owner’s budget. Through expert decisive corrective action, and with consideration to nearby wetland preservation, Eckman completed the community to receive residents on time.
