Project Description

The 135,000 square-foot Academy Building at Pinkerton is the home the majority of freshman classes. It received a Merit Award for construction excellence from the Associated Builders and Contractors of NH/VT.

The building is located in the center of the busy Pinkerton campus, surrounded by academic buildings. During its construction, Eckman instituted strict measures to ensure the safety and security of students continuing to use the campus around the construction site.

The Academy Building features a soaring three-story atrium as well as three skylights to add ample daylight to the interior spaces. A living green roof covers the two-story portion of the building. It has 29 classrooms, 7 science labs, a culinary arts classroom and dining area, television studio, large lecture hall and a cafeteria with kitchen.
