Eckman Construction recently completed two design/build projects for The Derryfield School: a new Athletic & Wellness Center, and the adaptive reuse of the school’s former gymnasium into a state-of-the-art Science and Innovation center.

The 42,000 square-foot Athletic & Wellness Center features three basketball courts, a cardio room, weight training area, movement studio, locker rooms, team and training spaces, as well as communal spaces.

The former 10,000 square-foot gymnasium space now features an X-Learning classroom, three bio/chem labs, a robotics lab, maker space, staff support space, and a mezzanine level. Three existing classrooms, located just off of the gymnasium, were renovated and converted into two physics classrooms.

Eckman led the design/build team, which included Cowan Goudreau Architects, Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, and TFMoran.
